Welcome rockers!

This is the place, the place where everything you'll see, hear or feel will be remembered as the blackout with a big B. Blackout is heavy shit loads of metal in its purest form. A wild guess... is this about music? Correctamundo! It's about 4 swedish guys in a band creating heavy metal with a sting. It's about Tobias beating the crap out of his drumset and Thomas turning up the mid-range on his guitar. It's about lyrics and melodies created and performed by Andreas, and finally about Nitesh, the man behind the thick-string bass guitar.

We will be feeding you with our music thru this site, so just click on Music, pick a song, turn up the volume and heavy shit will be right in your face. We will also be adding new pics and other stuff from all sorts of happenings where we might have been or done or will be doing. And finally, when you've decided that you wanna have Blackout at your next gig, then we have a couple of e-mails on the contact section.

If you're still reading this promoting crap and find it interesting I strongly suggest that you move on and click on some of our links on the right side or down below. And while you're here and before you leave this page, please leave us with a comment at the blackout blog where news will be added and comments will be read.

Vocals

Andreas is the only member of the band born in Umeå. Having been interested in music since an early age he tried to start playing the guitar at the age of 11. That first attempt at playing music ended up in absolutely nothing and it took a couple of years before he picked up the guitar again. This time Andreas realized that his hand eye-coordination wasn't the best and gave up the guitar for good. He instead shifted his focus to singing which seemed to work out pretty well. After being a part of a few bands and other projects Andreas got in touch with Tobias and Thomas and the rest is, as they say, history.

Bass

Nitesh was born in a small town near Gothenburg, called Borås. He moved to Umeå to study at the University and a few years later he met a manic drummer (Tobias) and together they started the band Bloated. Nitesh was a classic piano player and was therefore signed up to play keyboard in the band, but since that did not feel right he started to play bass. Later, Nitesh moved away to Uppsala for 1.5 year but returned and joined this hard kicking new band in Umeå together with Tobias, Thomas and Andreas.

Drums

Tobias Oja was born October the 16th 1979 in a village called Kainulasjärvi up north Sweden. When he was five years old he started to play on saucepans in the kitchen until his father bought him his firsts drum kit. Tobias first band was Strawberry shortcake, a band he joined in 1996. One of the band members was Thomas, the present guitarist in Blackout. In year 2000 he moved to Umeå and joined the band Loco Lava, but Tobias wasn’t satisfied with the music style and when he met the bass guitar player Nitesh Mistrey, they started the band Bloated. Later on when Tobias met Thomas in 2007 he left Bloated to start a new band, Blackout.

Guitar

Thomas Isaksson was born December 5th 1976 in Gällivare, wich is a little city up north in Sweden. At the age of 15 he studied art in Luleå and during that time he got an old worn out western guitar from his parents wich immediately led to more hours of plucking strings than studying. Against was the name of his first band and after that he first played in Massive then started the band Strawberry shortcake with Tobias. Later on, in 2001 he moved to Stockholm and his musical focus shifted from metal to early 60's rock and classical guitar. In 2004 he moved to Malmö, continuing his musical focus. It wasn't until 2007, when he once more met up with Tobias in Umeå (wich now is his home since 2006) that he once again turned the drive knob to the maximum and the consequence was Blackout.
